Team and Player Eligibility
(Washington State)
1. All teams must submit a tournament roster and a registration fee of $35 per adult team to be registered with and classified under the Washington State Division of USSSA.
2. Teams registered under one name must re-register when a change in team name occurs, and teams playing after Labor Day weekend that have added four (4) or more players to their registered team’s roster must re-register at a fee of $35 as outlined above.
3. All adult players must sign a Tournament Roster, Amateur Waiver & Release of Liability and play on only one (1) USSSA registered tournament team in the same program at a time. There are no pick-up players allowed (exception: except with the approval of the Program Director or Classification Chairperson).
4. Managers/Coaches must insure that all players have signed the Waiver and Release of Liability Official Tournament Roster prior to the team’s participation in any game of a tournament.
5. Players participating in the USSSA Men’s or Women’s program are eligible to play in the Mixed, Church, Corporate, Masters, Law Enforcement, Military, and Hispanic programs.
6. Roster modifications can be done in one of two ways: a) By placing a player’s name, along with their signature, on an official tournament roster that is submitted to a tournament director, or b) By completing a roster modification form and forwarding it to the state office by mail or fax.
7. Any player, in any program, is allowed to make one roster move to another team of the same class, and then return to his/her original team for the remainder of the current year. A player may elect to make only one roster move in the current season to a higher class team, and cannot return to their original roster. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved in writing by the appropriate Program Director or the State Director. Failure to comply will result in immediate suspension from USSSA until the proper action has been taken and approved. Mixed Program: See rule under classification section.
8. The date for receipt of final roster changes is August 1st of each year for all Adult programs. (Except Church, July 26th; Summer Mixed, July 8th; Mixed Championships, September 17th, and Fall Men, October 8th, 5:00 p.m.).
9. For tournament play, in the Mixed, Women's, and Church programs, a player may drop only one (1) class from one year to the next without written approval of the appropriate Program Director. Failure to comply with this rule may result in immediate ejection from the tournament in progress and may result in suspensions within USSSA. In the Men's Program, a player may drop more than one class, from year to year, as long as his addition to the team in question abides by the current guidelines for forming a new team or adding players from a higher class to an existing team's roster.
10. When a team qualifies for a State, National or World tournament, the team roster will be frozen. A team manager may release or add up to four (4) players provided such releases or additions are made prior to August 2nd (Except Military, Church, Masters, and Mixed). This rule is in effect whether the team accepts or declines a berth.
11. All teams that want point recognition on the National website, for ranking purposes and seeding into designated tournaments, must put their roster on the ISTS website prior to receiving any recognition. See our website for instructions on how to do this.
12. In all programs all teams are required to have their roster on the ISTS website (see our website for instructions on how to do this) prior to participation in any NIT or State Championship tournament.
13. All other eligibility requirements are covered in the USSSA Rule Book.
