Bounty Tournaments

USSSA Washington will offer a “Bounty” format in selected tournaments in various programs.  This is an attempt to be creative in our efforts to make our tournaments more fun than those of other associations.  When viewing tournament listings, either on the website or in the USSSA Washington 2007 tournament Guide any tournament that has the word BOUNTY in the title of the tournament will offer the following:

At one of the first games of the tournament a coach that is awarded the status of Home Team will draw a name from a container that will include the name of every team participating in that tournament.  The team drawn will then be identified as the ‘Bounty’ team on the bracket board and the team that “ELIMINATES” the ‘Bounty’ team from the tournament will receive, in cash, $10.00 for every team that is entered into that particular tournament.  If the team that is designated as the ‘Bounty’ team wins the tournament then the ‘Bounty’ team will receive the cash.  For example:  In a 16 team tournament the money paid would be $160.00.

In a Round Robin format if the ‘Bounty’ team is eliminated in pool play the money will be awarded to the last team that beat them.

In the case that a team that is designated as the ‘Bounty’ teams does not show up for the tournament another team will be drawn and identified as soon as this is made evident to the Tournament Director.

The entry fees for the ‘Bounty’ tournaments are $10.00 higher than our normal tournaments.  We sincerely hope that this format proves to be fun for all of you and that all teams get the opportunity to enjoy this new twist.
