In 2008 there will be only one “Rec” State Championship Tournament, which will be held at Kasch Park on August 2-3. Teams can qualify by either winning a berth in one of the tournaments during the regular season, or by playing in more than 4 tournaments, or by earning more than 40 points in at least 3 tournaments. (League participation does not count as one of these events). All teams that advance to the State Championships must participate in a minimum of 3 events (league counts as one).
On the weekend of August 16-17 USSSA Washington will host the Northwest Challenge Championship at Celebration Park in Federal Way. This tournament will be run as a double elimination event with an entry fee of $300.00. There will be no gate fees for either of the above tournaments. Any team that participates in the State Championships will be eligible for this tournament. All teams entering the “Northwest Challenge Championships” must have competed in the State Championships. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the Men’s Program Director. There will be a “BOUNTY” award in this event, along with a top of the line awards package.
The accepted roster for the Northwest Challenge Championships will be the roster that was used for the State Championships. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the Men’s Program Director; or the Washington State Executive Director at least three days prior to the tournament.
