In 2008, USSSA Washington will hold the Men’s “E” State Championship Tournament on August 9-10 at the SERA Complex in Tacoma. All teams that qualify for the State Championship, AND meet the listed minimum requirements (4 events, USSSA league counts as one event) will be eligible to participate in this tournament. However, we are limited to a total of 48 teams in this tournament and the first 48 that pay will be entered and drawn into it. It is strongly suggested that all teams pay their entry fee as soon as they qualify, so as to insure their spot.
All teams that participate in the Men’s “E’ State Championship will be eligible to enter the Men’s “E” Northwest Championships, which will be held at the Russell Road Complex on August 23-24. Teams from Idaho and Oregon will be allowed to participate in this tournament, with the approval of their respective State Director and the Washington USSSA Men’s Program Director. The entry fee for each of the above tournaments will be $300.00 and there will be no gate fees charged at either event.
The accepted roster for the Northwest Championships will be the roster that was used for each teams respective State Tournament. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the Program Director or the Executive State Director of USSSA Washington at least (3) three days prior to the event in question. All teams advancing to the “E’ World Championships must participate in the Northwest Championship Tournament, which includes the “E+” teams. The “E+” teams will spot the “E” teams 2 runs per game in the Northwest Championships. Teams from another state should be prepared for the possibility of being classified as “E+” for this event. Watch the message board for updates pertaining to these events beginning in July.
“E+” TEAMS:“E+” TEAMS must compete in “D” tournaments, and will be spotted 2 runs by “D” teams in all tournaments except the “D” NIT’s. They may petition for reclassification to “E” after participating in a minimum of three (3) “D” only tournaments. They will receive an automatic World berth after participating in at least six (6) “D” tournaments. “E+” teams that qualify for the State Championships may not enter the “E” State Championships; they must participate in “D” State. However, they will be allowed to participate in the “E” Northwest Championships. There will be weekends that the “E+” teams will be allowed to participate in the “E” program. Please see the message board for a complete list of these exceptions.
Please watch the USSSA Washington website for weekly updates, beginning in June, for the names of the teams that have qualified for the State Championship tournament.
