NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO DROP MORE THAN ONE CLASSIFICATION WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF EITHER STEVE WOLLACH OR ROGER WILSON. ALL APPROVALS WILL BE POSTED ON THE MEN’S CLASSIFICATION POST ON THE MEN’S BOARD.

REMINDER:

Please remember that the above moves have been made based on the rosters that were on hand at the end of the 2007 season, and on the performance of each of the above mentioned teams during the 2007 season. We realize that we can make some mistakes and are always open to discuss a move with any coach that wants to give us a call. We have without a doubt left out some teams that some of you may feel should be dealt with. It is our hope that if any mistakes have been made, we will catch them prior to the 2008 season. It is each of your responsibility to help us whenever you are aware of another team breaking the guidelines. If you don't bring it to our attention, it will take that much longer to correct, if at all.

COACHES: If you would like to appeal our decision, you must supply us with a letter that lists the reasons why and your complete roster for the 2008 season. We can make no decision on any appeals without a roster for 2008.

We do the very best that we can and appreciate any input that some of you may have. However, we act on issues based on personal contacts, not rumors that are posted on this board. If you have anything at all that you would like to talk about, please feel free to call me at a reasonable time of the day.

Any teams wishing to appeal their classification...........Please wait until Feb 2008 to send them in. Only exception would be if your team is traveling out of state and need to discuss your team’s classification. sgw

The following guidelines will be used in the final determination of all team classifications for 2008.

We sincerely hope that the following guidelines will be of some assistance to you in forming your teams for the coming year. Please remember that these guidelines are not the only factors used in making a determination for the coming season. If your team meets the following stipulations, then the possibility is very slim that you will not start the year at the level that is listed. However, if you go over these guidelines when forming your team, then your team will be dealt with at the first classification meeting in March, as long as you have submitted a roster to the committee. If you have not submitted your roster for evaluation, you will have to wait until the next meeting, or play at the level that these guidelines suggest that your team belongs in. The possibility that you can exceed the number that are listed and still play in a lower division will be based on your entire team roster and who the players are that put you over the limits.

Specific Classification Guidelines:

“A” TEAMS

An “A” team is limited to a maximum of three (3) players that appear on the National “Major” Players list. There are no other restrictions for an “A” team.

“B+” TEAMS

A returning “B+” team from the previous year will be allowed to add two (2) players from an existing “A” team from the previous year or any team that has been reclassified to “A” by the National By-Laws. A “B+” team can have no more than one (1) player that appears on the National “Major” Players list. There are no other restrictions pertaining to a “B+” team for the 2007 season.

“B” TEAMS

Any team that is classified as “B” for the 2007 season will be allowed to add three (3) players from teams that were classified at a higher classification the previous year or that were reclassified to “A” by the National By-Laws. The addition of a fourth player from a higher classification will automatically reclassify them to “B+”. A “B” team can have no more than one (1) player that appears on the National “Major” players list. There are no other restrictions on the number of additions that were members of a "B" team or lower the previous year, that were not reclassified by the National By-Laws.

“C+” TEAMS

The addition of a third player from “B+ or B” or one more from an “A” team will automatically reclassify a “C+ team to “B”. If a team is reclassified to “B” because of exceeding the player limits, that team will play in the “B” program and will participate in the “B” State Championships.

The addition of a third player from “C+ or C” team or a second player from a “B” team will automatically reclassify this team to “C”. If a team is reclassified to “C” because of exceeding the player limits, that team will play in the “C” program and will participate in the “C” State Championships.

“D” TEAMS

Any team that is classified “D” for the 2007 season will be allowed to add a maximum of two (2) players from a team classified as “C+, C or D+” for the 2007 season or one (1) player from a team classified as “B” in 2007, or any team that has been reclassified by the National Constitution to “B or C”. The addition of a fourth player from a “E+” team or a third player from a “D” team will automatically reclassify this team to “E+”. If a team is reclassified to “E+” because of exceeding the player limits, that team will play in the “D” program and will participate in the “D” State Championships (Washington only. Any new teams forming for the 2007 season that are comprised of mostly “E” players from 2007 will fall under the above guidelines.

“REC” TEAMS

Any team classified as “REC” for the 2007 season is allowed to add a maximum of three (3) players from a team classified as “E” in 2007 or any team that has been reclassified for the 2007 season.

The Men’s Classification Committee reserves the right to reclassify any team to a higher classification if in their opinion either their new roster justifies the move or the team demonstrates on the field that they belong at a higher classification.

ALL A, B+, B, C+, C, D+ and a few D teams as well as NEW teams for the 2007 season must submit a roster to the Men’s Classification Committee for final determination of a classification no later than February 28, 2007 or play at the classification that the Men’s Program Director assigns them until their roster has been reviewed by the classification committee. If your team exceeds any of the standard guidelines you will need to submit a classification roster as well.

ALL A, B+, B. C+, C, D+ and D teams participating in NIT’s will be required to post their roster on-line through the National USSSA website. All rosters must be posted prior to playing in the NIT. If you do NOT get your roster posted you will not be officially entered into the tournament and your team will not be drawn into the tournament. Also, without posting your roster on the National website you will not receive National points.

If you are a D team and you have plans to participate in NIT’s, Worlds etc my suggestion is to get your classification roster in by February 28th for your classification approval and then post your roster on-line at the National website.

Roster additions and player pick-up rule for 2008 will be the same as 2007.

ALL E and above teams will need to have their roster on-line through the National website prior to participating in the State Tournament. If your roster is not on-line you will not be drawn into the tournament.
