Darrell Downey

Male Player - Darrell Downey

Darrell began his softball career in the middle of the 1970's after finishing his outstanding career as a star running back for the UW Huskies. His competitive spirits were kindled in his high school and college athletic endeavors.

Darrell's USSSA softball career began with the Federal Way Merchants. He then joined the West Coast Awards 'A' team in 1980, where he received All World awards and helped his team to a second place finish in the USSSA Western World tournament in Las Vegas. Darrell played many years at the 'A' and Major levels. He still plays on teams within the USSSA Men's program in tournaments as well as in the Masters 50 and over tournaments. Darrell continues to show his outstanding athletic ability that encompasses his career. He hit well over .600 for his career with over 800 homeruns. According to many people, Darrell was the best shortstop to ever play the game in the Northwest. His soft hands and incredible range amazed all who played with and against him.

Ozzie Morrow

Male Player - Ozzie Morrow

Ozzie Morrow has been involved in USSSA slow pitch softball for more than 20 years. Ozzie was a hard hitting, go getting outfielder and in a pinch could play the infield and also even pitch. Ozzie holds a lifetime hitting average of .650 and an impressive home run total of 350. He is still playing in the Masters program. He played for such Southwest Washington teams as Sizzler and Ammon's Roofing. Ammon's Roofing,  led by Ozzie, won the 1983 'C' State Championship held at Ft. Dent. Ammon's rolled through the tournament to the finals when they stumbled and had to play an IF game. As always, Ozzie and the boys rallied to win the IF game and bring a state title back to Longview. Ozzie has twice been named to an All Region team. He is married and his wife Marsha has many stories of Ozzie's adventures on and off the field. Ozzie has a very sound approach to hitting. He stands off the plate and looks to extend his arms. If he got a pitch out he would smack it. He racked up the impressive numbers before the bat technology really took off. Many of Ozzie's teammates would love to see what Ozzie would have done with the new bats. At the age of 54 you can still find Ozzie playing ball.

Terry Graham

Female Player - Terry Graham

Terry (Grammy), has been playing for about thirty six years and over half of that time with USSSA, in state and out of our state. Beginning with fast pitch softball through college in Nevada, Terry continued her love of the game with slow pitch after college. Her Nevada team was eventually bumped to 'A', and in 1989, after three years at that level with that team, Terry moved to Washington. She immediately found a team and continues to play to this date at the highest level. Although she is known as a solid defensive player at second base, Terry has become a consistent and dependable hitter, batting over 700. She moves the runners along. Over the last few years, Terry's teams have won several state titles, tournament championships and three Western regional titles with three different teams. Terry loves USSSA softball and is a totally committed team player. Even as years go by, Terry continues to play at the A/B level on a very competitive and successful team. She still earns All Star awards and most importantly, leads the team by example, with on field performance, dugout leadership and off field preparation. Her career warrants and deserves Hall of Fame consideration.

Nick Stack

Sponsor - Nick Stack (Aldercrest Auto Rebuild)

Since the inception of Washington USSSA, there has not been another individual that has been more willing to become a part of the softball scene, or demonstrated his eagerness in the support of the softball community. Nick began sponsoring teams in USSSA as far back as 1990. His sponsorship has been felt in the men's, women's, church, mixed and youth programs. Nick has, without being asked, stepped up and helped numerous teams that needed support, except that any team he is associated with must act with class at all times and represent themselves in a way that is beneficial to all those around them. Over the years he has spent over $65,000 in his support of teams that can demonstrate to him that they are deserving of his support. Nick has been presented with the "Award of Merit" from Washington USSSA and has the respect of the entire softball community, whether he is part of their team or not. Any player or team that knows Nick, or the name of his business, has the utmost respect for what he has and is doing for softball here in Washington. He is currently a sponsor of the Men's Major NIT and of many of the USSSA Church tournaments here in Washington. In 2005 he and his business is entering into a venture with Washington USSSA that will benefit the teams and the Association for many years to come. He has always believed that USSSA is the best game around and has insisted that any money that he gives in the support of the game be used solely for participation in USSSA. Because of his support over the past 14 years, Washington USSSA is a better Association a many of our teams are still involved in the game of slow pitch softball because of his support. You will find him at a ball field almost every weekend, either playing or watching, and he is first to tell you, whether you know him or not, that both he and his kids have enjoyed the game. He asks simply that you remember what the "game" is about and that you always remember that there are kids present at the fields.
