PHILOSOPHY:

It is the goal of the Washington State USSSA Youth Program to encourage and provide Youth Softball Players the opportunity to compete and participate in competitive and/or recreational softball programs that are based on the desires and capabilities of the youth athlete.  

TOURNAMENT POLICY:

1. All teams must submit a USSSA Tournament Roster and a Registration fee of $25 per Youth Fast Pitch team to be registered with and classified under the Washington State Division of USSSA.

2. Each Youth Player’s parent/guardian must sign a Waiver/Release of Liability Youth Tournament Roster for the youth to participate. Roster:  Click here for 2008 Washington Youth Fast Pitch Tournament Roster.  

3. Managers/Coaches must ensure that all Youth player’s parent/guardian have signed the Waiver/Release of Liability Tournament Roster prior to the team’s participation in any game of a sanctioned USSSA tournament.

4. USSSA Youth Liability and Medical Team insurance is available to all USSSA registered teams.  Contact our USSSA State Office at 206-789-9133.

DIVISIONS:

Player’s age as of December 31^st, of the current year, determines the age division in which the player may participate. NOTE: It is the player's age as of December 31 of the year before the spring season.

6 years old and under            14 years old and under

8 years old and under            16 years old and under

10 years old and under          18 years old and under

12 years old and under          19 years old and under

QUALIFYING FOR STATE & WORLD SERIES TOURNAMENTS: 

1. Berths are earned through USSSA leagues and tournaments.

2. State berths won are seeded into the State Tournament.

3. Youth players or teams must have played in a USSSA tournament to be eligible for State or World events.

4. Teams participating in the "C" State Championships must be a league team and have their roster certified by their League Director and submitted with the entry fee. Only one (1) pick up player will be allowed and that player cannot be a pitcher.

5. Teams must play a minimum of one (1) tournament in the age class to be eligible for 12U, 14U, or 16U tournaments.

6. Rosters are frozen ten (10) days before the State tournament.  A one (1) 72 hour, hardship may be allowed by the Program Director.

7. Three (3) players may be added between the State and World tournament.

8. Teams playing in the World Series must participate in the State tournament.

9. The Fast Pitch Program Director may deviate, in writing, from the above rules.
